Safety and comfort of work is an exceptionally important matter to me.
When I use new materials, I source them only from trusted suppliers that sell certified materials, safe for the environment and for users.
New materials carry the following certificates:
OEKO-TEX CERTIFICATE
All cotton fabrics available in our shop carry the OEKO-TEX certificate. It is awarded only to materials that meet over 100 strict testing criteria.
The certification tests focus primarily on detecting harmful substances, and also on assessing odor and the fabric's resistance to perspiration. Thanks to this, you can be sure that the material you purchase is of the highest quality and completely safe for the skin – including a child's skin.
GOTS CERTIFICATE
Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is an international standard defining requirements for organic textiles. The certification criteria cover the way raw materials are sourced, as well as the environmental and social conditions at every stage of producing and storing the material.
Textiles certified to the GOTS standard are a guarantee of quality and safety for the consumer. Under the GOTS standard, fibers used in production must come exclusively from natural sources.
GRS CERTIFICATE (Global Recycled Standard)
The GRS certificate confirms that a fabric contains at least 50% recycled materials and was produced according to strict ecological and social standards. It guarantees reduced raw material consumption, control of pollution emissions, and the absence of harmful chemical substances.
By choosing GRS-certified fabrics, you can be sure that the product was made responsibly, in line with the principles of sustainable development and ethical production, which makes it a better choice for the environment and for ecologically aware consumers.
Materials from the secondary market:
I wash such fabrics in an intensive cycle at a higher temperature before starting to sew. I also pay attention to the composition labels to make sure they are of good quality.
After sewing, before handing the items over to the customer, I hand-wash the finished products in grey soap to remove any contamination from the sewing process, and also to make sure my work will hold its shape after washing.
